This year's Elementary Duathlon, was a huge success. The event, held on Saturday, October 17th, included a 1/2 mile run, a 2 1/2 mile bike, and another 1/2 mile run. Students in grades K through 5 from all three elementary schools were invited to participate, and over 400 attended. The event would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Lincoln Avenue physical education teachers Gary Jensen and Beth Bolger who generously volunteered their time and energy to organize the event. Gary and Beth also coordinated volunteers and secured sponsorship from local businesses so that each child who crossed the finish line could receive an event t-shirt. Kudos to them both for organizing such a well attended community event.
